Toast 5.2.x have a wider CD-ROM/DVD drivers support than Apple Disc Burning. A similar cooperation between iTunes and Apple Disc Burning software can be achieved with Toast and Sound Jam.
Don't forget that iTunes for Mac os 9 was a "less capable" version of Sound Jam.
i read on macintosh garden from "mikeTomTom" that if u use v5.02 toast the apple disc burning extension can coexist with the
toast extension.. without causing a conflict..
but if u update past 5.02 the conflict will occur.
this goes inline with what he said about 5.02 being the last true mac os 9 version and the versions afterwards
being for Mac os 9/OSX 10.1 or 10.2 systems (5.21+ updating for compatibility with mac os 10.3)
5.02 works fine with 9.22 .. but 5.1x requires 9.1+ and it was during this time, of mac os 9.1-9.22 that it is thought
that most of the development were focused on compatibility of 9+X coexisting on the same drive.. the way the Quicksilvers + MDDs were shipped with both OS installed
