We at Mac OS 9 Lives run our own Hotline file server to make software for Mac OS 9 available for our members and guests to download.

The main software categories are audio, video, graphics and software development, as they are the four main fields in which people still use Mac OS 9.

Sounds great, but where are the files?

We are using Hotline Connect to provide the content for you to download. This is also how you upload software and files if you wish to make a contribution to our archive, or just chat with our admins and members about the future of the site, the platform, the weather, the Hotline server and everything in between.

If you have no idea what Hotline is or how cool it is, Nathan Powers made an excellent video about Hotline. We highly recommend watching it either as a Quicktime movie on Cornica.org or on modern hardware through YouTube.

I'm old-style! I don't like watching videos

Fine with us! Hotline is a client-server based system that allows logged in users to live-chat with other members and download files from the server. It's written for Mac OS from the ground up - for example, Hotline saves the resource forks of uploaded files. There is no need for StuffIt archives!

How do I join?

You need a Hotline client to be able to connct to our Hotline server. Grab a client from the list below and connect to hotline.macos9lives.com.

Client suggestions (for everyone!):

See you there!
