Looking for M Audio 2496 drivers
« on: September 30, 2024, 02:12:13 PM »

Nothing on the M-Audio site... google brings up the old download boards here!

http://www.macos9lives.com/smforum/index.php?topic=923.0

But the link is dead.

Are there any plans to host drivers on the Hotline server? Can't find them there now.

Look (via Hotline) under…  MacOS Extensions & Utilities > Hardware Drivers > Audio & MIDI Interfaces > M-Audio.  ;)

TRY the Original MacOS9Lives theme “Blu” / via your Profile --> Look and Layout settings.

Up and running, thank you. I installed the earlier drivers and then the later version over the top following a note in the folder re using earlier for OMS and later for ASIO

So far I've not tried ASIO, but the card is working via Sound Manager. I found the later drivers were really buggy, caused a crash when I attempted to adjust levels on two occasions.

I reinstalled the earlier driver over the top, seems stable although I'm not particularly impressed with the control panel software - can't seem to adjust main output level, the sliders having no impact, also the metering seems to be incorrect.

Perhaps I should have a look for previous sound card installations to see if anything is causing a conflict?
