Drag Drop install for Clamshell G3?

I have a sick G3. Really sick. Not like when my son says, "Sick!!!".

The optical drive is toast.
I put in a new SSD.
I got an iBook G4 and was able to connect the Clamshell to it in Target Mode.
The CD Drive on the G4 turns out to be broken! (I just got it off some guy on Craigslist... who remembered that after I got it home. oh well.)
Then I was able to see the SSD and initialize it and install OS9 drivers.
The only box I have with Firewire AND a working Optical drive is a 2009 MacBook and when I put a Tiger CD in there... it's blocked out. Can't run the installer.

So, I downloaded the Universal 9.2.2 Drag and drop and got it on the G3 but it won't boot. I guess it's not for a G3?

Is there a Drag and Drop OS for this 2000 Clamshell G3?

It think that is it's only hope.
