ibook 700 CD how to add OS9 drivers
« on: July 11, 2022, 10:09:04 AM »

I have a 700 mhz ibook (cd). I am trying to get OS9.2.2 installed. My first step included booting to OS9 install, and then I initialized my internal drive. I had hope that I could then just drag and drop OS9.2.2, and it would start up. My goal being installing the os9 driver for the drive. Well, that didn’t work. Now I am trying my OS 10.2 install CD, to say my CD drive is on it’s last leg would be a possible understatement. It doesn’t like to read from that drive, eventually giving me an error.  exit code 138

What are my options. I don’t have another mac that doesn’t have intel chips.

Any help would be fantastic. I searched the site, but couldn’t find my  answer.

TLDR : Old ibook. Initialized drive using OS9 install disk. My CD drive is not a fan of my old OSX install CDs.Help.
