Random ethernet related (?) error dropping into MacsBug
« on: February 19, 2022, 03:33:03 AM »

I'm using a Mac Mini G4 running the OS9lives version of 9.2.2. It's running smooth and very nicely, except randomly (as in 1 or 2 times per evening) our beloved OS will suddenly drop into MacsBug with this error:

I'm sorry, it's not very legible, I know. Here's the full error:

Quote
PowerPC unmapped memory exception at 3E0ED6AC IAGetEthernetAddress+32598

I can't make anything out of it other than it seems to be related with the Ethernet setup / TCP/IP stack?

I can easily exit to Finder from MacsBug and Mac OS will continue operation with no problem. While it's not a show-stopper to me, I'd like to know more about what's going on here.

Anyone with any insights?
