I had heard good things about 64GB msata MSA230S in the big cheap green "chenyang" msata-ide adapters from Amazon. So I thought I ordered one, but I goofed and got 220S instead.  I have no idea what the difference is, but I am pleased to report that it seems to work perfectly in my iBook G4 14" late 2004 1.33GHz. I'm running OS 9 on all my G3 and G4 laptops because OS X (and surprisingly OpenBSD) just run horribly on these machines. Even with the RAM maxed out, they are slow and super-thrashy. Unix just has too many little files...

I am tempted to test this adapter+drive combination in my most cursed Lombard, which locked up all the time with a short board "MOPFOL" adapter (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GSWK82HK?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title) and a 32GB Samsung msata drive I had laying around.  Not sure it is the Powerbook's fault as I also tested these devices in several hard disk music players and "vintage" Pentium laptops and nothing worked reliably.  Finally, I tried it in a Compaq Armada 1700 (running Windows ME just because I never had that OS back in the day) and it actually worked reliably.
