XBOX xiso extractor
« on: Yesterday at 02:07:08 PM »

with Mac OS 9 having came out in 1999 a full year after the beloved dreamcast came out in Japan i find it surprising that there isnt a easy way to extract XISO format disc images for the original XBOX ive got FTP down via Fetch and the like but most xbox rom's on the webz are not simple ZIP compressed folders there usually .iso files that have a special format that you have to extract into a folder and then FTP over to the XBOX you can do it easily under Windows 95/98/ME/XP but not OS 9 -OSX Jaguar 10.2 please make that make sense

your comma key is broken.

i dont think there is any other way on mac than to burn an .iso, if anything works, then those files. toast 5 will burn everything, as well as the "create master" function in OSX.

dont use an apple drive, use a more modern samsung burner.

your main problem remains that the burnt DVD will not be read by the console without heavy modifications.

The weird part is that Mac OS 9 could FTP files to an Xbox just fine, but apparently never got a native XISO extractor.
Jaguar did, though: extract-xiso was available for Mac OS X 10.2 and could even extract directly to the Xbox over FTP.

Yeah @IIO im great at reading not so much writing so bear with me and my incompetence i guess...
@smilesdavis i thought that was only for Panther and above??
also @IIO my XBOX was softmoded using a 20 year old 256MB flash drive and the rocky5 method only has a 8GB drive that i can fit a single game unto as it is the stock one and the screws are proprietary and i don't have the special screwdriver i have a 160GB IDE HDD i could throw into it that is still in shrinkwrap i think it is from 2007?? but i only got it for around 60 quid as the guy i bought it from received it damaged during shipping (the DVD drive doesn't read the discs properly) and thus he was selling it for a loss
