Wanted: ATX to MDD adapter in the EU
« on: Today at 01:26:17 AM »

Hi!
Trying to source an ATX to MDD adapter to the EU is quite hard nowadays. There's one for sale on eBay, but the person selling them wont ship to the EU so I'm quite stuck.
Throwing money on a now 20+ year old recapped original PSU is not really something I want to do, so now I'm looking for some help.
Are anyone making these in the EU?
Thanks! :)

is that one guy who once sold them no longer available?

for future reference for new forum users: https://mac-classic.com/articles/power-mac-g4-mdd-atx-conversion/

technically recapping is better, so they say. ATX solutions will use far less control checks with the mobo.

The guy selling them is still selling them, but wont sell or ship to the EU anymore so I need an alternative source.

That guy is Andy Cuffe, the same guy who recaps probably enough MDD PSU's here in the US to pay his mortgage every month…
He can't ship to the EU or GB because of the new GPSR (General Product Safety Regulations) recently enacted on your side of the pond. Technically, such a cable is an electronic product and requires him to act like a manufacturer.

Don't you feel safer already?

Tell you what Knez… if it comes down to it, I'll buy one from him here and reship it to you. You can PayPal me the money. HOWEVER:
We're talking like, $50 + $4 US tax + $7 ship = $61 US just to get it to ME, plus whatever it takes to ship it to YOU, so probably $70-$75 total.

Personally, I'd invest in a pin tool and swap the ATX lines into the MDD plug. Then you only need a little plug for the 12v drives. One of those should be easy to source near you.

I'm here if you need …   :)
