What were the last games to support PPC Mac?
« on: September 02, 2025, 04:52:51 PM »

Just out of sheer curiosity. Major game releases supporting PPC came to a screeching halt in 2005 despite Apple's last PPC-based system shipping in November of that year. But I have found some outliers:

Prey (January 2007) - minimum G5 1.8 GHz and OS X 10.3.9

Ratatouille (June 2007) - minimum G4 1.2 GHz and OS X 10.3.9

Colin McRae Rally Mac (October 2007) - minimum 1.6 GHz and OS X 10.4

The Sims: Castaway Stories (early 2008) - minimum 1 GHz G4 and OS X 10.3.9

World of Goo (November 2008) - minimum 1 GHz and OS X 10.4

I seem to remember Rome:Total War to being one of the last, but I haven't checked its release date. It was definitely late in the game and only ran on high-end G5s, nothing for us OS9ers :)
