Classic Mac evidence: Digidesign announced PCI Pro Tools systems on 11 May 1996 with shipping to begin in June 1996.

Classic Mac evidence: Digidesign's SampleCell II PCI is documented as released 22 November 1996 with SampleCell Editor 2.1. The first surviving Digidesign Wayback product-page capture found in this pass is 16 May 1997.

Classic Mac evidence: October 1997 remains the documented Pro Tools|24 introduction era.

Hardware:
• d24 PCI card + DSP Farm PCI.
• 888|24 introduced as the 24-bit interface.
• d24 uses Motorola 56301 DSPs; the initial system offered 24 tracks of 24-bit audio, later raised to 32 by DAE software.

Classic Mac evidence: PARIS is explicitly a cross-platform Macintosh/PC DAW in surviving 1997–98 material. The January 1998 Sound On Sound review is therefore usable as direct Mac-era evidence rather than merely generic hardware evidence.

Classic Mac evidence: MOTU's first-generation PCI-324 audio system is documented for Macintosh in the early-summer 1998 1224/PCI-324 launch era.

Classic Mac evidence: The earlier chronology's 4 January 1999 V4.10 Macintosh-support date is retained, but the exact Lexicon primary press-release capture was not recovered in this archive pass. Independent 1999 coverage proves the Core2/Studio Macintosh era by spring 1999.

• July 1998 — early Studio release reviewed as PC/Cubase-only at 16-bit/44.1 kHz.
• September 1998 — Lexicon stated Macintosh ASIO drivers were about 30 days away for Cubase VST/24 and Opcode VisionDSP.

Classic Mac evidence: The earlier “1997 packaging” date is not defensible as the driver-release date. A December 1998 Midiman advertisement still says “Mac Drivers Available Soon”; the surviving manual is Version 2044-070799 and contains complete Mac Sound Manager + ASIO installation instructions.

Mac driver architecture:
• System 7.5.5+, PCI, 120 MHz+.
• Sound Manager extension required.
• Separate ASIO 2044 v3 and ASIO 2044 v4 drivers for Cubase 3.x / 4.x.
• Four outputs available under Cubase ASIO; only one stereo input pair active at a time on Macintosh.

Identity correction: The original queue item named CT4830. Creative's own model list identifies the official “Sound Blaster Live! For Mac” as CT4875. CT4830 is an OEM/Value PC-family model and must not be used as the canonical Macintosh card identity.

Classic Mac evidence: A January 2003 Mix review explicitly states that Mac ASIO 2.0 is supported under OS 9.x. Lynx firmware notes dated 7 January 2003 add Macintosh-specific L2Update versions for the LynxTWO/L22 family.

Mac driver: Uses the LynxTWO OS9 ASIO driver family. Sound Manager support is not provided. Macintosh firmware must be loaded before Mac use when a card contains Windows firmware.
