Raspberry Pi ethernet to wifi bridge
« on: September 30, 2024, 05:57:52 AM »

If you have a Raspberry Pi 3 laying around, it can very easily become an ethernet to wifi bridge for your old mac or other retro ethernet-only computer. I found this after tearing my hairs out trying to set up DD-WRT to do this with an old Linksys router.

This is much easier than configuring that horrible old router.  Just run one command on the Pi and your bridge should be up. Edit rc.local to run it automatically at boot. Or create a systemd service if you enjoy needless complexity.

I'm mostly interested in G3 and G4 laptops. PPC desktops were nice, but they take up too much space.
