feedback on the new "https://macos9lives.com/" landing page
« on: August 28, 2024, 10:41:57 AM »

given that i was a professional web designer once upon a time, these thoughts are sticking out;;

the "forum" option on the left should be highlighted in some way
 it took me some time to find the link to click thru to the forums
 i think it would work to reverse the contrast for that item to make it stand out
ie : black writing on white background rather then white on black.

at least make the rollovers more visually apparent the color difference is too slight its hardly noticable

agree with this (separation from Hotline, different color or font...). For the rest I think it looks great :)

after clicking thru to the actual forum page

id like to see the "Recent Topics" section expanded as theres only like 8-10 posts in this section
and its easy for alot of posts to happen in one day and have this content completely roll off out of view, easily fixed if u change the number of recent topics to be like 20-40 instead of 10! plus nosey people wanna know what other people are posting about

i was just browsing on this page.. its a thread thats grown to 3 pages... im reading the thread.. i press NEXT at the bottom right and it takes me to the NEXT THREAD instad of the NEXT PAGE (page 2 of 3) IN THE THREAD I WAS READING ALREADY

maybe the "next" button needs to say "next page" or "next thread" instead of just "next"

That's a valid point and seems to be a Simple Machine Forums standard thingie. Not that standards aren't there to be changed :-) I'll look into it. And I'll get back to Knezzen and we'll discuss the other points you've made. No promises though :)

It's been this way since forever. It's present in the old theme as well and is a Simplemachines "feature". Sure, it could be named a bit better perhaps, but it's been this way since this forum was created in 2012.
