UTM: MacOS9 guest, MacOSX Host - File Transfer

(MacOS 9.2.1 with UTM on MacOSX Sonoma 14.6.1)
today has been a good MacOS9 day so far...
1) I used FirstClass to access some private/semi-public BBS (or kind of) servers. The app seems quite stable and relatively easy to use (once you get rid of that awful FirstClass Notify extension).
Still looking for a SIMPLE+HANDY BBS app that just lets you type the BBS addy (and then proceed to registration if necessary). Is there such a thing?
2) Using UTM I managed to prepare and save a decent .img for future use once UTM gets better or when I'm more confident trying QEMU directly without such a front end. The image is loaded with apps I've installed and seems in good/stable condition (lot of free space, light fragmentation, no useless prefs etc...)

Getting close to a perfect UTM VM:
- thanks to a valuable member of this forum, Mach Ten is fully operational, I can surf https with Classilia: makes a world of difference
- installed a few more graphics apps like Corel Graphics 8 (upgraded to 8.0.3). I'm not an expert at editing, producing graphics but I've always liked playing around with various 2D graphics software. Next and final step will be Canvas I guess
- BBS-ing is limited but the two servers I found through First Class are loaded with files to explore...
I browse various forums -especially Mac-emulation- and it seems some users found ways (complicated for beginners and people not familiar with hacks that require command lines) for mouse integration and shared folders. With my "transfer" disk (.img) I don't mind the lack of a shared folder, on the contrary the UTM mouse capture thing is annoying... I'll see.

the guesswork (with solid help from various members + old posts) continues
Sound issue: so far I only got horrible bleeps and scratches
- set the system at 512Mb in UTM*
- start the VM
- Memory panel: virtual memory on, set at 512Mb
- shutdown, start again
=> worked like a charm with various clips and mp3s
I've got one question. Is it Ok to leave the settings that way or is it better to turn off virtual memory before shutdown. I'm asking because I think I've read that some apps can't be launched within the emulator if virtual memory is on. Maybe I'm wrong and didn't read/understand properly.
I'd love to know. An emulated system will never be as good as the real thing but I'd love to make it as close as possible.
Edit: sound also works fine with "system: 768Mb, Virtual Memory on: 769Mb"

I've installed the Japanese Language kit with a universal MacOS9.2.1 CD
works perfectly well and it properly installed Kotoeri, a tool to type directly in Japanese
the funny thing is that when you take a look at extensions, libraries, prefs etc...that were installed, their names are complete gibberish !!!??? Well, as long as it works.
I think I'm done with that UTM VM. I've installed all the apps and utilities I needed, it's quite responsive and stable. Mouse capture is annoying though...
Instead of using that tiny dot you have in the UTM menu bar, I press control+option directly. Then option again, otherwise control-click or hold with Finderpop behave strangely.
