A Modern looking Logic Pro update for OS9 canned by Apple...

Development for the new anvil, & many other Plugins was scrapped/Pulled for os9 by strict apple orders Including this version from the design department...

This is basically the newer emagic graphic update that was planned for 6.5 release as a stepping stone into the ugly dark grey "apple pro suite" logic pro 7, but it never happend!...

install just drop it into your logic pro 6 > 6.4.3 installation folder.

damn it I was getting this from my sketchy 4g service & so I upgraded to starlink! so upload speed is not the problem....tried in OS X tiger & in catilina same result??

I compared the data-fork with the official 6.4.3 version. It is 100% identical except for the version numbers.
So this is definitely only a resource / graphics update. The code is unchanged from 6.4.3!

I’m not surprised at all as I think this would well predate the 6.4.3 update which came out after logic 7 was released... we know they had logic 7 in the pipeline from summer Namm expo 2004

Emagic Apple have updated Logic Pro 6 for both Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X to version 6.4.3. This new version features : fixes problems with control surfaces on Dual CPU Macs, fixes a rare problem with the "Recent Files" menu and now opens Songs that were saved with Logic 7.

That’s right 6.4.3 opens logic 7 “OS X” songs... or was it originally actually 6.5.0?  Every .5 update was good 4.5 5.5 6.5?

6.4.3 was the offical apple “closer”  dump & run from os9 users...

Just download this 6.5 version “windoze” has confirmed the source code is apparently the same or identical  as 6.4.3 but with new graphics & icons. Just drop it in the logic folder regardless of what version you have...

Once you’ve used the 6.5 then going back to 6>6.4.3 looks pretty bad to me basically the version 4 or 5 look.. there’s no performance difference that I’ve noticed over the years...

Replacing the application opens seems to work, I still have to test well. my concern is that the update from 6.4.1 to 6.4.3 also updates system files (extensions, etc.). are you sure that updating from version 6.4.1 to 6.5 only changes the application file?

Yes mate 100% won’t change anything at all.

Also there is no need to replace the application they can be side by side in the same folder...


The 6.4.2 update has a installer which might add some files modifications...

I have installed Logic Pro 6.5 and am not seeing any changes at all to the GUI.  The audio faders in the environment still look the same as in 6.4.3.  Am I missing something ? Thanks.
