Protools 5 LE on TDM Hardware
« on: October 28, 2022, 11:27:07 AM »

Hi folks.

Recently I picked a old expansion chassis with 3 cards. A D24 (no DSP but allow I/O), a DSP farm 2 and a DSP farm. Later I was tempted by 2 mix core cards and I tried some combinations.

To my surprise, if you already had an LE system working and you pull off the LE and put on some TDM cards the software boots!

You have no access to the DSP, but if you are in a hurry and you have your set of LE plugs, you can still work as if an LE system.

When you go to hardware setup you can read "LE on a MIX" hardware or something like that.

Just wanted to share this "upgrade" road for LE to MIX users, because you can have different sets of plugins doing so. I mean, you can still save the LE setup and on other volume, have an TDM setup.
