OS 9 on powerbook g4 12" 2005 1.5 GHz
« on: January 14, 2021, 02:51:32 PM »

Hey guys. I am trying to install mac os 9 on my 12 inch 1.5 GHz 2005 powerbook g4. I've tried all sorts of things, but I can't find anything useful. Does anyone know if and how this can be done? I know this question has probably been asked in the past, so instead of criticising, I would appreciate if you gave a link.
Thanks.

Hi rjans,

Welcome to the forum !

Mostly it all boils down to some OpenFirmware manipulation before trying to boot off the os 9 for unsupported machines CD.
I found the following post that seemed promising but have not tried it yet on my PB 12" 1.5:

If you have some success, another thread about PowerBook G4 12" so it could help regroup a bit the woes and successes.

Have fun !

Thanks, but when it boots the trackpad won't work and neither will an external usb mouse. The keyboard works though

Disable all extensions with usb in the title and reboot

What external mouse are you using?
