I have an EMU E-5000 Ultra and it's a kick-ass machine. Great built-in effects etc.
I also have a Yamaha A5000 and it's terrible to work with. An aweful interface for an otherwise really powerful sampler. It's a pity really

Don't forget the Ensoniq samplers, I use 'em with Macs, they are what got me into Macs in the first place.
Basically, EPS16+ works with Mac scsi that is what I have and use. I gather the EPS scsi wasn't that great as it was still being invented at the time so might not work. ASR scsi I think does work with Mac scsi. The Mirage doesn't have scsi only MIDI for which I wrote a editor for Win95/98, I think someone has now done a better version. BTW: Macs do not handle Ensoniq floppies, same old problem, simply different tech, don't waste time on this, Giebler has EDM for DOS which does this perfectly.
On the flip side, I didn't find ANY scsi sample transfer on Win platform, I tried all I could find, there was always some problem, so I moved to 68k Mac and BINGO! problem solved all my wave data transfers are via Mac scsi

Well the EPS16+ runs on a 68k itself so I figured a Mac running that should be a good start. So far I've tried a Mac Classic, Performa 200 and my IIfx. I did try PPC Macs but there seemed to be a scsi clash of some sort, but I'm not blaiming the PPC Macs, I just ran out of testing time.

I have a 9500/200 (PPC) running OS 9 and that didn't seem to work over scsi but again that might be due to other reasons. I was running Antares Infinity loop software, but it ran out of the 30 day trial period, if anyone has a clue how to get around this I'd like to know. As far as I know it writes a code to the HD master boot record so can only be deleated with a format of the HD.

I was trying Bias Peak 2.5 for SDS to ESi-32 which works

(easy and simple way to load small samples without the hassle of scsi) and in the Ensoniq EPS16+ section of the manual says, it is not compatible with PPC scsi!

I do wonder as my EPS16+ scsi doesn't seem to work quite as it did before I connected it to a PPC so it might actually damage the EPS16+ scsi chip

Have you tried the 'Castlewood Orb' USB Scsi adapter? It works on the 10.9.4 with Bias Peak and you can send and edit samples via Edit with hardware samplers.

I found one on ebay for £1 with a bundle of random cables. Otherwise they go for £40-90 and mostly are in the USA.

I have an Ensoniq ASR-X and you can use the'RATOC U2SX USB SCSI Adapter'...
It works on the OS 10.3 with Bias Peak 5.2.it's very fast and good quality.

Version 2.5 is the one im looking for to send samples to ASR-10 and Roland S-760.

i dont know why mactron has sorted this as being an "audio editor only"
but thats how he has sorted it... perhaps a more appropriate title would be
"audio / sample editors" but melodyne is a plugin?
and mixman / traktor are not editors either lol?? *shrug*

are u saying that this functionality was removed with bias peak 3 and up?

version 3.2 + 3.5 are both present here.

Yes i've watched.
But version 3 and up of Bias Peak can not communicate with the Roland S760 and the ASR-10.
Bias Peak 2.5 its really very hard to find.I see that English mac tried the version 2.5...
I'll send him a message where he found it...

this shows their site was updated beteween may + june of 2000
to v2.5 from previous version of v2.0
so its safe to say bias peak 2.5 is from spring/summer 2000.
