hitachi 500gb 7200rpm

I have problems with this 500gb hd.I have a mdd dual1.25 and a quicksilver single sonnet 1.4 ghz and in all the case i cant recognize the whole 500gb size.i only see a 128gb hd.Also tried to make 4 partition with a linux machine but i stiil have a 128gb hd.Tried to start installation of 0s9,but nothing good,always a poor 128gb.what is wrong?

Please check that your version of Apple Drive Setup Version V2.1

So i have to download the drive setup utility and then install the hd to format?

DH is saying that in order to format an OS 9 drive larger than128Gb, you must use Apple Drive Setup Version 1.2 that came with OS 9.2. Check the version number.

maybe i am totally blind but i have downloaded the 9.2.2 iso with the drive setup 2.1,but when i start the installation the drive setup is the 1.9.2;not the 2.1 as mentioned in the post.

re-downloaded,re-burned another cd but i still have drive setup 1.9.2.
