USB Keyboard
« on: June 24, 2015, 05:41:24 PM »
Hi!
Didn't know where to post this question, but here it goes:

Which USB keyboards work in Mac os 9 (G4)?
Will silver thin apple keyboard work?

Thanx!

the thin aluminum ones from the intel mac age work fine but the eject button will not work on these keyboards when used with a g4.. but u can use toast's software menu to eject the cd.

Another trick with the "CD Eject" thing is to simply set a function key to launch either the Apple "CD Upper eject" or "CD Lower eject" programs located in the "Apple Extras" in OS 9.

so even with a tower with 2 optical drives you can quickly and easily open each tray via a function key no matter what apple keyboard you have.

Hope that helps :)

I didn't think those KB's worked with the older macs, learn something new every day.  Too bad my TiBook, G3 clamshell or G3 iMac don't have blue tooth . . .  :D  I don't have any of the cabled ones . . .  :-\
