Nexus - the missing link.

The first Wavestation(tm) compatible VSTi is currently in development. Uncompromised quality, advanced features and an easy to use interface will make you beg for more.

Feature highlights
Various synthesis possibilites, all combineable: Subtractive, Vector & Wave-sequencing.
Two configureable filters per oscillator
LFOs with editable timing-instabilities to get that organic sound
Build-in, high-quality effects engine -- http://web.archive.org/web/20020204124335/http://refx.net/Products.php4

does this mean refX Nexus is similar to the Korg Wavestation ?????????

original 'cobalt' skin (more skins listed here: http://web.archive.org/web/20071014034202/http://refx.net/?lang=en&page=products/nexus/skins#)

original demo mp3 (20min demo)
http://web.archive.org/web/20071030024519/http://www.refx.net/downloads/Nexus/Nexus.mp3

even tho it appears on the site in april 2002
http://web.archive.org/web/20020406162215/http://refx.net/products/Nexus.php4

it seems this wasnt released untill oct 2007 according to the timing of the web backup
http://web.archive.org/web/20071011123219/http://refx.net/?page=products/nexus/summary

and it required mac os TIGER. for the record.
if anyone knows differently please speak.

**update
http://web.archive.org/web/20060820151059/http://www.refx.net/
this page shows a dramatical commercial in flash advertising nexus coming in fall of 2006
but still from 2002 april to fall of 2006.. i think there was alot of effort made into creating this instrument
and that originally was meant to be 'wavestation clone' in the same tradition that junox2 was a 'juno clone'
but that the idea evolved from there into the first version of nexus.. and then to nexus2.. after that

this was said in different occasions:

Confirmed: There aren't a Mac Os 9 version.
... and this text was extracted from Nexus 1.0.9 version manual:

Minimal Mac system requirements
- Mac G4 800MHz or better / Mac Intel 1.4 GHz or better
- Minimum of 512Mb RAM
- Hard drive space required: 3Gb
-=> Operating system: Mac OSX Version 10.4.8 or later
- Graphics (minimum resolution): 16-bit 800x600
- Host: Any application with either VSTi support (e.g. Cubase SX) or AU (AudioUnit) support (e.g. Logic)

Nobody seems to have a solid evidence of a Mac Os 9 version of refX Nexus.

SO...

yes im aware, but there was no "refx nexus" post
with links to info / pics / etc for someone who is looking this up
or curious.. they will find the answer here, and unfortunately
for mac os 9 users that answer is no.

For people such as myself
that are interested in creating setups using
more than one computer, and operating system,
not limiting myself to *ONLY* mac os 9, but
instead  choosing to *INCLUDE* mac os 9,
i can easily load up another mac running 10.4.x
and network midi & Audio to/from this VST from
any midi capable daw such as Cubase, or Ableton.

i wish this mode of thought was not so far outside
the realm of what you are interested in... but
you have your preferences.. and i have mine.
i dont understand you and u dont understand me
but at least we have helped each other out quite a bit.

Nobody have to understand to nobody.

This is just a forum to join efforts to a common goal.
This common goal can't be changed based on one member preferences only.

I really feel sorry that you after all this time don't understand -not myself- but this forum and the spirit behind this.

Yes, this is a very important point.  But not the only one...

im quite aware that im out numbered + now, out ranked by both you + jerry
but u are the only one thinking it neccessary to edit, delete + mark things as offtopic

but i am surely not the only member whos perspective is to INCLUDE MAC OS 9 in combination with other windows + mac os x systems
rather then to EXCLUDE ALL NON-MAC OS 9 systems + information
you yourself have admitted that you have a mac os x system (more than one)
jerry has a mac pro.. i have macbook air + imac..
most people who are here also have mac os xmachines..

To play this game of "pretending mac os x doesnt exist" and block out all info + links to mac os x

its ok..u choose to limit focus on a specific thing
whereas i choose to focus on all things

This site is ran by Chris and you can explore other non-OS9 digital audio solutions

As stated in many other topics, we all know OS X exists, many of us use OS X, we are not OS X phobic, but the sole purpose of this site is to focus on OS 9 solutions and tools; also to be the last remaining archive for OS 9 DAW material and discussions.  The rest of the internet has plenty of reference material and forums available for specific applications running under OS X, this is not that place.

The purpose of staying focused on Mac OS 9 is our core mission statement, this does NOT mean that we are ignoring the benefits of OS X, this simply means we are choosing to maximize the long since forgotten gems that are still there in OS 9 if you look in the right places...

and about reFX Nexus.

As far as we know, never existed a Mac Os 9 version of reFX Nexus.

https://refx.com/nexus/

can u believe they are charging close to 4000$ us dollars for the full library for the new version of nexus? (nexus 2)

its still a software virtual instrument..
can be used with a mac os 9 daw externally via midi cable / audio cables

also,
this program i believe is the continuation of the original JunoX2 VST app!!!!!!!!!

https://refx.com/ seems to have changed its logo + brand look aswell
