Which version of protools?
« on: March 20, 2024, 08:48:16 AM »

I wanted to give PT a serious spin since my LE installation failed.

8 tracks in the free version are maybe not enough for me.

As of now my system is optimized for studio vision pro, with opcode midi interface and M audio 1010 ASIO 1.0 / Acadia driver.

I see that protools mostly supports digidesign hardware, which version i could make run with the M audio and OMS?

Without Digidesign hardware only Protools 3.4 with PowerMix engine and Protools Free.

With the Audiomedia III you can run From Protools 3.4 (16 tracks) to Protools 6 LE including Protools 5.1.1 LE

If you got the right iLok (Were RED mostly) Protools M'Powered could run your m Audio 1010 on Mac OS X (From version 6.5 to 8 ) but you loose the Opcode goods IIRC.

Check for a Digi 001, 002 Mixer or a MIX/24 setup if cheap.
