Personalize your startup image
If you don't like the standard start-up screen of Mac OS, you can replace it with something more personal. Save the desired picture in the PICT format (e.g. using GraphicConverter or Photoshop) and name it "startupscreen".
Note: Make sure the resolution of the picture isn't bigger than the screen resolution.
Then move the image into your System folder. You should see it the next time your Mac OS is booting.
