Looking for Pro Tools HD 6
« on: November 18, 2024, 08:18:51 PM »

I am looking for an installer for Pro Tools HD6 for pairing with Logic 6/7 on my G4/G5s.

Pro Tools 6.4.1 does not work with HD sadly.

It was the last generation Pro Tools to support HTDM plugins (which Logic worked well with in this pairing). Ideally V6.7 but will take any version that runs on OSX 10.3.

In my search, I have found a web installer for Pro Tools 6.2.3 TDM. I have uploaded it to Macintosh garden https://macintoshgarden.org/apps/pro-tools-tdm-623

Does not have the plugin updaters, so I will probably source those from the PT 6.4.1 disk and post those as a seperate download. Still looking for PT 6.4, 6.7 and 6.9. If I find those I will upload them.

This serial worked in my installation.
DIGI0600 6E350059 ADAA6768

Very important note: This will only work on Mac OSX 10.3.2-10.3.4. Anything newer will automatically crash when attempting to playback sound.

Still looking for newer versions to post, since this version is painfully limited by a difference of .2 Mac OS updates

I did manage to find a working Pro Tools 6.7 Install disk, not sure where to upload it first so ill probably save that one for the Hotline server. (has loads of plugin updates including bomb factory plugs).

This is another file im trying to find a way to obtain but can't get past "permissions". Moving up to 6.9 would allow me to move past 10.3.9 and into Tiger where software support seems to be a bit better.

Architecture,

Just posting these wayback links assuming you have already combed these areas. Might lead you in other directions/combinations of urls that could work.

nothing older than v10 on the current avid site: https://web.archive.org/cdx/search/cdx?url=https://cdn.avid.com/ProTools/*&output=txt&from=2010&to=2024

https://web.archive.org/cdx/search/cdx?url=http://akdownload.digidesign.com/support/69/*&output=txt&from=2000&to=2024

^ 6.9 updates as bin and dmg files, though they require a current version of 6.9 according to the dmg ProToolsTDM 6.9.3cs4 ReadMe.pdf

if you remove the ak you can download:
http://akdownload.digidesign.com/support/69/pt693cs4.dmg
http://akdownload.digidesign.com/support/69/pt693r2.dmg

nice find!

https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://akdownload.digidesign.com:80/support/*

Very large find. Finding a lot of plugin installers I was missing for 6.4.1. I’m wondering if Digidesign put the full installers on another server requiring login credentials? Been asking people who would have had PT6 back in the day if they can login to their account and see if they have the option to download as a registered user.

Architecture & smilesdavis, are you downloading all those from the archive?
All I have in my vaults are:
Pro Tools TDM 6.4.1 Installer.toast
pt64cs6.bin
pt64cs9.bin
pt641cs4.bin
pt641cs3.bin
Dev Partner 6.9 Plug-In Updater.bin
pt623update.dmg
ptle623update.dmg
ptle623full.dmg

Don't ask me why I have these, I stopped using PT around 5.x., IIRC. :D

I am working to upload the 6.4.1 iso to the garden. 6.2.3 is currently on the garden for TDM.

Issue with the cs updates is you need the original installer for the version you wish to patch with the CS update. Organizing the garden I would compile CS updates per release (ie 6.9 CS updates, 6.9.1 CS updates).

Everything on Hotline is on Gopher as well. It's the same file area on the server, only accessed through different protocols.

Check out gopher://gopher.macos9lives.com in your favorite Gopher client ;)
