change base look of OS9 to performa style?
« on: January 16, 2024, 08:49:33 PM »

i found some small info on this through kelidascope and such but what im after is a way to mod the loading screen, extension icons, base graphics in the OS itself to look like os 9 does on performa.  the G4 os9 is just tooo...  shiny? too polished.

the openfirmware boot will always look different but past that, id like it to just be more plane.

Things are starting to become redundant here. I made a google search to see where the theme can be downloaded these days, just to be sent back here ;)

And regarding the startup screen, see the following thread at 68kmla: https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/customizing-the-os-9-boot-screen.853/

I wasn't aware OS9 looked different depending on machine used. Please give an example - I don't have an OS9 compatible Performa.

It doesn´t. Ncc74656 is simply talking about MacOS 7.
