started using computer based midi with Mac SE also got in some studio experience with Atari ST
using the SMPTE striping for reel tape method for non midi trax
part of the reason powered up the old Macs is attempting remembering
plus consider so many factors create variable in composition and the ultimate output
you sequencer without any doubt completely makes difference when composing
this is also why will revert for hardware midi sequencers on specific projects
such as the Alesis MMT8 or my favorite Roland Sequencer with "microscope" editing
the result has different "sound/feel" than GUI piano roll midi editor
have this theory regarding first instrument used during composition process...
that also extends to your sequencer
try keeping conscious of your composition tools
with all the exponential possibilities anymore
implementing in some methods for reducing endless possibility
ultimately helps overall focus
using limited palette methods of composition is highly suggested
"choose your weapons"
this helps in so many way during initial concept stages all the way for final mix
"If it isn't broken..."
yet it's not like miss "bombs" in the middle of working on trax
thus you learn
"always save!"
BTW good stuff
suprahyper creative mode
see what happens why you actually "master" software
