Does turbosynth talk to Soft Samplecell?
« on: February 22, 2025, 11:49:15 AM »

Like the subject says:  will Turbosynth upload samples directly to Soft Samplecell?

I'm about to build a new Protools mix setup and was thinking of sacrificing my Samplcell II pci cards for Soft Samplecell so I can add more Mix cards or an Oasys PCI board but only if Turbosynth can upload sounds to the software like the old hardware Samplecell.  Has anyone here done this?

TurboSynth doesn't have a direct feature to upload samples to Soft SampleCell. However, you can integrate them into your workflow by manually exporting and importing audio files. Here's how:

Design Sounds in TurboSynth: Create and process your sounds within TurboSynth.

Export the Audio: Save the output as an AIFF or SDII file.

Import into Soft SampleCell: Open Soft SampleCell and load the exported file as a new sample.

This method mirrors the process used with the hardware SampleCell cards, where sounds were designed in TurboSynth, exported, and then imported into SampleCell for playback. While this isn't a direct upload, it effectively allows you to use TurboSynth-generated sounds within Soft SampleCell.

Regarding your setup, transitioning from hardware SampleCell II PCI cards to Soft SampleCell can free up PCI slots for additional Mix cards or other hardware like the Oasys PCI. This change can enhance your system's processing capabilities. However, it's important to note that Soft SampleCell and TurboSynth are legacy software, primarily designed for older operating systems. Ensuring compatibility with your current system is crucial.

In summary, while TurboSynth doesn't directly upload samples to Soft SampleCell, exporting and importing audio files between the two applications is a practical workaround. This approach allows you to integrate TurboSynth's sound design capabilities into your Soft SampleCell workflow effectively.

If you don't know the answer, using ChatGPT will not fool anyone.

Turbosynth SC does not communicate with Soft SampleCell. It does allow you to preview sounds on the hardware unit, but I don't see how you directly upload to SC. Need to spend more time with that documentation.
