Well that IS an improvement! If the 4 RTAS plugs are 'resource hogs' and with a session on the larger side, that could be considered 'normal' behavior for system like yours. To take it further (until you get your other 2 mix cards involved) you might have to resort to resource saving techniques like what ProtoolsLEGuy outlined earlier in the post... 'printing' tracks, making use of aux sends, etc.
