Title: Partitioning hair drives
Post by: dkatz on January 13, 2026, 08:41:49 PM
I thought there was a limit on hard drive volume size of 205 gb.
I just co0nnected a drive that has 1Tb, and it seems to be working fine.
But how do i parition it. Is there a mac utility I can find that runs on 9 and will create partitios.
Do have to hook drive up to a computer with up to date X, and how do you format to with old macs?

You may already have one or the other of the attached files in your OS 9 "Utilities" folder.

on a mac you can do what you want - except that booting OS9 will require a <190gb partition.

i find it easier to use OSX to format and partition discs, otherwise the tools above do it fine.
