Just today successfully completed getting OS 9.2.2 on to my G4 Mac Mini booting via External Firewire SSD.
Became more complicated as I didn't realize previous owner who provided Tiger 10.4 only did NOT initialise the SSD with the OS9 driver option selected. I had to EVENTUALLY wipe everything today as all I was getting was the ?FOLDER. I now have Tiger, SORBET and of course 9.2.2 partitions all booting just fine.
Got the NO MOUSE issue with a MAGIC MOUSE but grabbed a G3 IMAC PUCK mouse and its now working perfectly.
Thanks to all on this forum for making this LIGHTNING FAST OS9 performance possible as the CLASSIC emulation under 10.4 Tiger was just PAINFULLY SLOW.
