I have an SATA controller in my G4.
I would like to know some SSD's that could boot both 9 and 10.
Even though the G4 is speed challenged due to the bus, I want to buy an SSD that could be used in a faster machine as well and do a good job.
128 Gb limitation does not apply.
Thanks, wnlewis

An SSD is just a storage device. Performance profile differs from an HD, but that's about it. Bootability (in 9 or X) depends on the controller. What controller card are you using?

I have a similar setup in a G4 cube with an adaptor and I can confirm that it treats SSD's via an adapter the same as the original HD. Just plug and play.

Go to our "Storage Technology" section or search the forum, this has been discussed many time :)

I am using a Firmtek / Seritek 1V4 which is working quite well and is trouble free in either OS 9 or OS 10.

The Samsung EVO series of SSD's look like they might work, but I would like to find out if anyone has had experience with them.
