The USB connector allows direct interface with Windows PC and Apple Macintosh systems, although only at 44.1kHz and 48kHz sample rates.

Are these drivers the Ploytec OS9 ones?

Are these drivers the Ploytec OS9 ones?
No, they aren't, AFAIK:

I just got one of these (200 screwroes). Haven't plugged it into my OS 9 Macs yet, but listening to an old track of mine from my modern machine, the playback quality on headphones is astounding. It requires external power, output is mini-jack only and you have to use the XLRs for line-level in (the jacks have gain for bass/guitar DI according to the manual) so it's maybe less convenient than many other USB interfaces, but it cost six times what an M-Audio USB Audiophile did and I think there might be a reason.

the current situation (europe) is acceptable, you can get the ME for 200 and a replacement PSU for 20.
however, for the same price you can already get the ensemble, which is a firewire, 10 in 12 out.
only thing missing would be OS9 support. :)
so to use an emsemble, you would need to run a motu or digi interface in addition and connect the ensemble in standalone mode to the motu via adat.
it limits you to 8/8 at 44 kHz but you will get a great sounding interface for some 450 euro total.
and of course you can also use the motu´s in and out channels in addition.
in theory that combo, motu mk II and apogee ensemble, can be daisychained 4 times for a total of 80 inputs (at 44 kHz).
in practice, the firewire port of a G4 will quickly get hot from all the distribution work, mainly because of the lack of preemptive multitasking of OS9, so using only 2 is more safe.

Does the Firewire option card replacing the USB connectivity on the Mini-Me still make it run under Mac OS 9?
-
nope, not supported.
