I've recently got a G4 MDD running Os9.2.2 and I'm setting it up for Audio and want to use it with my old samplers and synths.
Software I have on it so far :
Logic 6.4.3 (with dongle)
Bias Peak 3.21
Recycle 2.0
Toast 5.2.1

looking for other software (I use Macgarden & Repository) looking for the best version of Ableton live (live 4 ?) to work with Os9, not sure if you can get it free as it's old or not.
I also have a pro tools hd pci core and accel mix card, I'm not sure if it's compatible with the G4 MDD or not......

Welcome to Mac OS 9 Lives! We have a lot of software (including Ableton 4) on our Hotline server. Check it out here.

About the HD cards, if they are the PCI-X (not PCIe) version they will work just fine with your MDD in Mac OS 9. You'll need Pro Tools TDM 5.3.1 and we have that as well on our Hotline server. IIRC it's avaliable on the garden as well.

you can still download ppc ableton live 4.1.4 from their website

works well ! & only 100 22 fuckin megabytes , good old times !
 no sign of blobware like on acustica for example

only fails to see spektral delay though : )
