Just got here.
« on: Yesterday at 11:02:51 AM »

Good afternoon. I am from Minnesota USA, home of the Golden Gophers.

I was using Gophie to visit your gopher site, found the service manual for the G3 AIO (Molar Mac) which I could really use to get mine working again. However when I tried to grab the pdf I received a "Connection Refused" and I am not sure why. I was using Gophie an OS X gopher client. I will give it a try later using CyberDog.

We are finally getting spring up north and my thoughts turn more to gardening than to computers, but it is raining today so I am just playing around inside. Hope everyone is have a nice weekend.

Welcome to Mac OS 9 Lives, wove! Very nice to see you here :)

I'll have to look into your PDF problem, but I remember something about Gophie being picky about PDF downloads. I'll keep you posted.

Thanks. I appears to be a problem with Gophie. I visited the gopher space with Cyberdog on OS 9 and was able to grab the file without any issue.

On OS X you can install lynx via MacPorts, or HomeBrew. Lynx does gopher and works fine. I just did a check and found that beta6 of MacLynx does not appear to do gopher. (That was running MacLynx in emulation with SheepShaver, I have not yet checked it on real hardware.)
