Apple DVD Player not working
« on: March 16, 2025, 02:25:39 PM »

Hey 1st time poster

I am working of an iMac G3 with OEM DVD drive, and running 9.2.2 universal. It did'nt come with the dvd software so i tried 2.7 and 2.4 as well as a patched version of 2.7 i still get error code 301 that the machine is not  compatible. I know thats not true as i was running this software prior to 9.2.2 universal..

Has anyone encountered this or know where to start

Is the DVD drive the original fitment (rather than just Apple supplied)?
Some versions of DVD Player require an AGP video Mac. v2.7 does, v1.3 does not, not sure about others.
I understand all the slot-loading iMacs support AGP.
Also check your Apple CD/DVD Driver version, 1.4.8 seems fine on my Macs.
