In our aim for that late 1990's www fanpage feeling, our website at macos9lives.com has two boxes at the bottom of the news section - Game of the Month & Trailer of the Month.



The Trailer of the Month is a Quicktime trailer for direct consumption on Mac OS 9!

The Game of the Month is a game for Mac OS 9, but one that isn't a big AAA production. Rather the little known gem from the shareware scene, with a few classics.

I've been updating this section for a few months by now. The idea is to have a little something to discover every month when you browse by :-)

Thought I'd simply post a little update here in the forum, also in case somebody wants to check back later whatever that game's name was ...

September: Wingnuts | iMac G4 - The Window

November 2024: HoverSpeeder | Ace of Base VR
December 2024: Bolo | iBook G4 VR

I'll also gladly taking suggestions on Quicktime trailers and or games :-)

Darf ich solidarische Kritik üben? Außnahmsweise auf Deutsch, damit es nicht in den falschen Hals gerät! ;)
Ich hab ein Problem damit auf so einer wichtigen Seite für Mac OS 9, Spiele in den Fokus zu rücken, die im "Retrostyle" daherkommen und unser Lieblingssystem eher wie Mac OS 7 präsentieren. Mit den ganzen Verwirrungen mit X, Emulatorn, VMs etc. ist eh schon Alles so kompliziert. Und wenn jetzt irgendwelche Newbies glauben "DAS SIND" die wichtigen Spiele für Mac OS 9 wird unsere Plattform nochmal 10 Jahre älter gemacht. Ich glaub Du verstehst mich eh, also die bisherigen Spiele im Vergleich mit einem RedFaction, 4x4 EVO, TombRaider oder Tropico sind halt verzerrend für die Möglichkeiten unserer Plattform, …

Vielleicht ältere Spiele als "Retro" kennzeichnen, oder darauf hinweisen, daß die nichts mit 2002er-Spielen zu tun haben? Hmm, ich denk noch drüber nach, vielleicht fällt mir was Sinnvolles ein, …

Generell find' ich die Idee großartig.
