Thanks to you all I now have a slick dual booting G4. 1.25 GHZ single cpu, 2 GRam, upgraded PS, Airport PCI card, ATI 8500 and three 250G IDE hard drives.

CPU?
DVD drive?

Please list brands of upgrades that would work for my machine. MDD 1.25 FW400 single cpu.

i would think u can use any dvd drive, as long as the faceplate tray is removeable... and 99% of them are i think..

re: cpu u dont want to mess with that just be happy and enjoy some good software;)

As Mactron has noted.. a Better video card can really vamp up performance in a DAW since many meters and Plugins are graphically intense and can bring the unit to it's knees even when there is CPU power left... read all the video threads
