I installed OS on an 14" iBook G4 1.42 GHz back in 2022. Once in a while, it freezes right after booting. It says in these forums for some of the other unsupported macs (which also share the occasional-freeze-at-startup) that the problem might be fixed.

Is this true of the iBook G4 too ? Do I just need to try a newer Mac OS ROM? Or reinstall the whole system? I lost the CD I burnt 2 years ago and I'm not sure if it is the same as the one on Macintosh Garden:

https://macintoshgarden.org/apps/mac-os-922-boot-file-ibook-g4

There's no indication when the files were uploaded.

I'd like to test if there have been changes, but I'm unsure what to download from here or mac garden.

I'm mostly interested in G3 and G4 laptops. PPC desktops were nice, but they take up too much space.
