VSTI East West Hardcore Bass per OS9
« on: September 16, 2024, 09:49:32 PM »

good morning.. doing some sorting on old HDs I found a 1.1 OS9 update file for the East West Hardcorebass VSTI (!).. I thought it was only for OSX.. I tried it and it is actually for OS9, look for a folder to update it but I don't have it since I don't have the original installer. I searched but I didn't find the installer for OS9 anywhere.. does anyone have it? could you post it here? for me it would be a nice gift. let me know. thanks

if you have "classic lib" and "NSA lib" that´s all it needs, but the content DVDs are missing because i cannot read mine for some reason.

if someone can upload, pls do not stuff or zip.

...in addition to those files you also need the little program for OS9 authorization..it is better to have its installer, it installs all the files you need and in their place.

a kg is available for osx and windows. but you will still need the content DVDs to operate it. :)

unfortunately i never installed most of the NI stuff because i dont use it, and for the same reason i also do not have much legit copies, so i do not have a backup of the broken DVD.

what i did not see in the archive list earlier is a DFD lib? maybe it has none.

Bosendorfer 290..do you have this one?

yes, this one exists as image.

but we first have to find a way how to split files into chunks of 2GB for the fileserver, because it is also a DVD.

that´s why it says "filesize problem" in the downloads.

we might end up using split&concat for DVDs, but that is OSX only... brrrr. :)

the installers will not install anything when the content is missing so there is no reason to post them as extra file, that will only confuse people.

there is a reason why most of the NI content is still missing and i probably also do not need to explain what the folders with the questionmarks mean. :)

"missing because it is >2gb" is a rare case among the ones which still support OS9 - the others are missing because i dont have them, or lost them, but  they are mostly CDs.

PC installers like Mac installers, you can choose to install the library or install it later, then complete the installation anyway. PC libraries should be Mac compatible and maybe easier to find. It would be nice to collect OS9 installers just so they don't get lost forever.

I mean you can load all intakt and kontakt libraries in
Kontakt for mac os 9 if you manage to install/register them in the first place
No need for intakt

Kontakt 1.3/1.5 will load em

This is actually good news as this opens the door for kontakt libraties on mac os 9 here

Mactron did post all the resedits needed to add old 3rd party libraries to Kontakt in OS9 and have them activated; I know we have it here if you search for it

why and how would he use kontakt with a library he doesnt have, but where he has the appropiate plug-in?

the hack is mostly interesting for libraries which do not exist as OS9 plug-in. i remember talking with mactron about that in 2015 but i can´t remember a list of working content.

the filesever is waiting for you to fill it with the libraries, with or without the modification already done.

Well, yes, of course if you have the working plugin, then go that route.  I only mentioned it because all those libraries (a dozen or more from 3rd parties) can be utilized and activated with the main Kontakt plugin which may be more convenient in OS9 and a workaround.  If you recall Mactron's OS9 Kontakt library was pretty epic... about 40GB :)
