I picked up reading again last year, for the first time since I was a teenager I think. My main reading project since then has been reading through all of Terry Pratchett's Discworld. I'm currently up to the 13th book, Small Gods. Pratchett's currently my favourite author; his comedic style that can still be sincere when the story calls for it really clicks with me, and the fact that the individual novels are self contained and not super long makes it easy to jump in and out of the series without feeling lost.
I also occasionally dabble in Japanese light novels (mainly Slayers, since I'm a big fan of the anime and wanted to see the origins of the series), as well as occasionally reading through Stephen King's The Dark Tower series, which is so utterly weird and ridiculous and still weirdly compelling in spite of it all.
