A vs B board on G4 QS - disk speeds

i have not had time to deep test but i noticed significant differences in read write on the IDE to sata adapter vs these two boards.  the A board is 26-31MB/s read/write vs the B board that is 85MB/s.   sata pci card sitting at 92MB/s   has anyone ever tested the difference or know whats up with that?
