Hi to you all,
I have an new addition to this topic. I've done the same procedure with an Firewire 1814 unit.
I still had my setup with the Sawtooth Powermac running on 10.4.11
(software FireWire Audiophile 1.6 Build 1174 (Mac) 11-14-2005 )
I've red that for all the firewire units the software was the same.
I connected the Firewire 1814 unit booted the Mac in MacOS10.4 and when the desktop showed I turned on the Firewire 1814 unit. At first it only showed a blue led. After a miniute an amber Led turned on.
I then opend the Firewire control panel and it showed the unit.
I then rebooted the PowerMac in MacOS9.2.1 the Firewire1814 unit showed imediately.
And said the following:
Bootloader: 2004/03/30
firmware: 2004/06/22
Panel 1.0
Driver 1.0
My panel is recognized within Reason 2.5, which was my main goal.
I now have an audio unit with 18 output channels which are separately routed from Reason.
I've tested the unit on 2 PowerMac G4 units with MacOS9 and the unit is recognized on both.

Marcel

Yet an other update. I recently bought a MacMini G4 1,25GHZ.
I've installed an MSATA SSD with an adapter. Then I installed MAcOS 10.5.8, 10.4.11 & 9.2.2 from the download on this site.
I installed the M-Audio drivers on both the 10.5.8 partition as well as in the 9.2.2
The 9.2.2 has the FWUni_OS9_1.0.4_b42_install. Which gave me the 1.0 panel
The firewire Audiophile unit works on system 9.2.2 as default audio device. Now I have to test the ASIO drivers and OMS for midi.

Can we make a m-audio on mac mini install image ?
turbo.d:
I've been testing the setup for a while now, and to be honest I'm not happy. The MacMini G4 is hanging a lot. In OS10.5.8 with the 1.4 driver I saw a lot of kernal panic.
When I installed the 1.6 driver The unit wasn't recognized probably due to incompatibility with MacOS 10.5.8
Have reinstalled the system several times, when the basic setup was done I even carbon-copy cloned the boot device. After that I decided to replace the M-audio unit with an Edirol UA-25 which I had lying around. Within OS10.5.8 that setup proof to be more stable.
I now am testing the UA-25 with MacOS9 on the same MacMini.
The PowerMac MDD with the 1814 and OS9.2.2 has been stable since I've set it up.
regards
Marcel
