iBook Clamshell
Graveyard:
One of my old clamshells just found its way back into my collection after a few years.
It's the 366MHz model, without firewire. I have installed a 256MB module, an AirPort card, and a 40GB hdd. I used to use it for some old games at the time i first had it, even browsed the web, all kinds of things. I even installed Tiger on it using Xpostfacto to bypass the absence of the firewire controller. Nowadays i'm thinking of turning it into an OS9 machine.
What apps would you guys put on the old timer? It's still in pretty good condition considering its age, and works great. I'm even thinking about getting a new battery for it, just for the sake of it.
So, what do you guys think? What neat ideas would you have for this one?
supernova777:
any kind of software from the late 90s time period would run ok on it
logic 3.x (no rewire)
or u could try logic 4.73 (first version for rewire)
cubase 4.x
reason 1.0
live 1.0
opcode studio vision 4
rebirth 2.0
reaktor 2
digital performer 2.7
Graveyard:
Thanks Chris. I'm gonna look for those. Any other thoughts anyone? Any other software you would put on this machine?
And so that i don't open another topic:
What would you guys install on a PowerBook 3400c? It's the 200MHz model, i have the maximum ram possible on it, 144MB, a 60GB hdd and it runs 9.1.
I have found some old versions of photoshop, dreamweaver and stuff like that.
DieHard:
I used to love those famous "Toilet Seat" Notebooks (That is what we called them back in the day)... It can run lots of stuff, just get it to 512MB (I think I remember getting them that high, but you gotta use PC100, PC133 does not work)
