hello again,
me now is proud owner of a fa-101
just installed driver from Roland homepage on my os9g4mini, copied asio driver to logic6.....and it simply worked....listened to some stereo tracks i had imported to logic weeks ago.

will test multi channel recording asap, still found no time for that part, sorry

greetings
Tom

i'm back with recording results.... i was able to record two tracks of guitar with fa-101 and logic6 :-)
since i'm not very familiar with logic, i can't tell much about performance with more tracks.
Maybe someone more experienced can take a closer look at buffer sizes etcetcetcpp?

greetings
Tom

Which exact Mac OS 9 version/build are you using?
Which FA-101 driver version did you install?
Was this tested at 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz?
Did you use 16-bit or 24-bit recording?
Did Logic see all inputs/outputs of the FA-101?
Any issues with latency, sync, clicks/pops, or buffer settings?

hi Smilesdavis,
my G4mini runs os9 v.8 (from here) updated to v.9
driver is from roland homepage (?do multiple versions exist?)
tested at 44.1kHz only so far
16 or 24 bit - need to take a look at my logic first, sorry
yes, logic sees all inputs and outputs
no issues with latency, sync, clicks/pops or buffer settings so far
(as described above, i was using fa-101 and logic6 "out of the box" right after installation on my mini - that's why i asked for more experienced users to take a look at this setup, cuz these are my first steps in multichannel recording)
hope my results are of any use - please let me know how i can help with more testing to come

greetings
Tom

Thanks for the detailed follow-up, Tom.

It’s very useful to know that the FA-101 works under Mac OS 9 on the G4 mini with Logic 6, and that all inputs and outputs are recognized correctly. The fact that you’ve experienced no latency, sync, click/pops, or buffer issues so far means its stable

took a closer look under the hood..........
fa-101 files (asio, control panel, fw-driver etc) are "version 1.0.1 b8" (just the same all of them)
(copyright 2004 Roland corp.)

recorded files are 16-bit by default, can be switched to "20/24-bit" in asio-settings within Logic/audio/audio-hardware&driver-settings

Just to be on the safe side, lets attach the driver here.
