Help connecting USB Audiophile w/ Live 4 in OS9

(1/4) > >>

LloydTalbot:
Hi everyone,

I recently finally got my hands on a M-Audio Audiophile interface with the software and everything.

I installed OMS 2.3.8 first, and then I did the install included in the disc for OS9 (I'm running 9.2.2 on my MDD)

When I go into ableton live 4 preferences I see the MIDI inputs listed but not the audio in left and right inputs listed. What step am I missing to be able to record instrument audio signal through the interface and into my DAW. I hope i explained this all properly.

Thanks in advance!

OMS is only for MIDI. Did you put the ASIO driver in the folder next to the Live application?

LloydTalbot:
Hi!

Yes on the desktop after I used the install, a file came up on the desktop called Audiophile USB ASIO came up, so I dragged that into the Live folder "ASIO Drivers" under resources. I'm confused at what else I need to do. When I open preferences in life and inputs I don't see one that says ASIO. I see "computer keyboard", "Audiophile USB", "AudioPHile USB, Audiophile USB, Audiophile.." (this one gets cut off), and "? IAC Bus #1". Under my audio channels there is no option that gives me signal coming from the interface when it's turned on.

any help is much appreciated! I apologize if I'm missing something simple.

I can't remember precisely how the Live 4 prefs look right now, but you want to be looking at the audio settings - IAC is again related to MIDI, so you're no in the right place. There should be a drop down that probably defaults to Sound Manager where you can switch it over to ASIO, and then select the Audiophile as a device.

I think it is "something simple". You should read the instructions. I don't have any Audiophile gear but I downloaded the manual from M-Audio and immediately learned that the "file" that appeared on your desktop is actually a shortcut to the Audiophile control panel where all of the settings that you need to make it work reside. Pull it back out onto the desktop and double-click it.

……and read this.
