I bought this recently in a second hand store. It's also named 3CDSG8. It has 8 ports, a "dual personality" port and a port for a serial cable. It has its own IP number. If you type it in your browser, then you get a website with settings. This is called the web interface. The problem is that it shows up in Windows XP but not in OS 9 or Windows 10.

In XP I changed the IP number to something that starts with 192.168. When I typed this IP number in iCAB, I was stopped by the index page that says: "Please ensure that your browser supports Frames and Javascript, and that they are both enabled", although they were enabled. I got past it by asking for page "login.html". I saw this name in the source of the main page. Now it doesn't appear in XP.

This is the fallback IP number. The real IP number is assigned with DHCP. To find this number I should use a program 3Com Detect Application.

i was asking because i once ran into this: when your router is located at 150.13.something and your client is located at 192.168.x.x, you would simply not see it. you would need to create a new enviroment at the routers default/curretn IP in order to control it, then you can change its IP to match it your LAN area again.
