Envious of Borgmac’s magnification device? I was and... still.
I don’t know what this device is - but it is impressive.

So, budget-minded here (cheap) - picked up an olloclip for iPhone 6 / 6S via eBay.(These
were made for newer versions of iPhone as well.)
And the company (olloclip) has stopped production now.
https://www.olloclip.com/
They came with a fish-eye lens and a wide-angle… BUT unscrewing & removing either lens provides a 10X or 15X macro capability.

Fish-eye example.

10X Macro. Helps if iPhone is perpendicular. Note focus fall-off.

15X Macro.

10X Macro. Note curvature / distortion on left. (From a hard drive board.)

15X Macro. Should’ve moved up a bit for better focus. (hand-held shots)

10X Macro.

15X Macro.
And you don’t necessarily have to take a photo. Just view via iPhone camera screen for close inspection.
So you can inspect boards circuits and tiny bits “up close and personal” for cheap.
With macro… need be very close to object.
Above pin close-ups from this 933MHz QS board. (Not the dime & HD board images above.)
