Is the GeForce FX 5200 64MB or GeForce MX440 64MB better for OS 9?

That may well be true. It doesn't require any tools at all to swap the card in an MDD.

It may seem that way but I'll bet you're not trying to play 3D games in Leopard either.

I did put the last PPC version of Blender on my new G4 FW800 with Leopard and the viewport interaction and refresh is really smooth, with the card that came with the machine.
The card that came with my new G4 FW800 was this one, it has DVI and ADC...

The video card is held in with a screw on my new G4, to be a little more clear it is the MDD version with FW800 if that makes any difference. Here's what it looks like installed...

--- Quote ---The nVidia Geforce4 Titanium 4600 is by far the fastest video card available for Mac Os 9. This card is based on the NV25 engine @300 Mhz with 128MB of of Samsung @325 Mhz DDR (2.8ns) Video RAM. The Mac version comes with a DVI port and a ADC (Apple Display Connector).

You can read all the details here: (Photos, burning PC cards, etc)
Unfortunately without acceleration drivers (extensions), the FX5200 will suck under OS9 :(

Thanks for the info, I'll check that out! :D

Thanks for the help everyone. Popped in the older graphics card and it works great in OS 9 for 3D. :D

That's incorrect? The 440 was released in Mac form, in fact it was included in the dual 1 GHz Quicksilvers.
