How to use VST Digital Performer 3.11? HELP!!!
bkellytech:
I am using Digital Performer 3.1 for the first time (I have been a long time Performer users since OS X v5).
However -- I can't figure out how to use a VST!
I read the MOTU post. Using Audioeaze I can See the VST (In this case Ivory). I add an Audio Track -- but how do I add the actual VST to it "Using the First Insert"? Where do I find this? Is it in the mixing board window? Which drop down?
Steps or videos - anything would be of help. I even have the DP 3.1 manual, but it's useless, giving aux tracks only a brief mention.
HELP!!!!!
Thanks all, you're the best

--- Quote ---VST Instruments in DP under OS 9
Digital Performer supports VST virtual instruments through the VST Wrapper plug-in by Audio Ease and also through the Pluggo shell. When using VST instruments in DP 3.11 and earlier, you may find the following information useful:

Thanks!, however I have the vst wrapper -- I can see the plugins.
My question is actually much more fundamental -- how do I connect the ivory vst on an aux track to the Midi track?
My steps (so far):
1. Add Aux trax
2. Open mixing window, assign "Ivory" vst to Aux track (at this point the Ivory vst comes up)
3. Now what do I do...........

see the below quoted instructions :
--- Quote ---1-First, install the VST wrapper or Pluggo and the instrument plug-in in the VST Plug-ins folder.
2-Then within DP create an auxiluary track
3-assign the Instrument plug-in to this track in the first insert.
*** A MIDI instrument will now appear in the output choices for MIDI tracks in DP.
4-Assign a track to this instrument and you're all set to begin playing.

1. I don't see a Midi Instrument for any of the AudioEase plugins -- they show up in Digital Performer, and appear after creating an insert with them in the mixing board, but they do not show up as instrument outputs in tracks
