Non Apple keyboard doesn't work after boot

So my original keyboard doesn't work at the moment so I had to use an old PS/2 keyboard throw adapter PS/2 to USB. And when Mac is booting up it lights up and works, regonizes key combinations, but after booting into Mac OS it dies like it doesn't get power, is it common issue with non-apple keyboards ?
